Kilmallock and Ballyagran qualified from the Friday fourballs to play in the Matchplay section on the Saturday. After a tense and tight affair, with the score tied at 2 a piece and the final match already on the 20th, it was decided to share the spoils. AGM 2009
The AGM of Kilmallock Golf Society was held on Friday the 27th of February at O’Dwyer’s Bar in Kilmallock. The meeting was opened by Secretary Clement Hehir. No surprises to report from Clement from the accounts of 2008. Clement is an asset to the Society and his work does not go without acknowledgement amongst its members. A large thank you must also go to our sponsors for all our outings last year and also in 2009 as they help to ensure that we keep the finances healthy.
Both outgoing Captain Tom Allen and outgoing President Tommy Barrett paid tribute to the hardworking committee for their efforts throughout the year. 2008 was another great year for the Society and this was reflected in the emotional speeches by the outgoing officers.
The new Committee were voted in without objection and best wishes to Brendan, Alan and Clement for the year ahead. A few new faces in the committee this year and we hope that they have a great year in 2009. All eyes are on Connie Daly this year, who has recently lost his Youth Officer apprentice to sunnier climates. Who is Con going to take under his wing in 2009?
