Kieran McGrath accepting the Alan Lillingston Cup from Society Captain, John Buckley
The Cup and Shield have both been presented to the 2011 winners with Kieran McGrath and Mark Hefferanan winning the Cup for a second time in three years and Ger Finn and Alan Enright taking home the Shield. Continue reading
The Balbec Cup has now taken up residency in the Finn household for the next 12 months. Ger claimed the spoils after cruising through the qualifiers and then making short work of all who got in his way in the matchplay. The final took place last week where Kieran Donegan made a valiant effort to stop the juggernaut but it was to no avail. On his way to victory, Ger claimed the scalp of Paddy Kelly, Kieran Mcgrath, Paul Allen and Kieran Donegan. Congratulations Ger.
The semi final draw has been made and what a draw. In the first match, John O Keeffe is paired against the in-form Kieran Donegan. The second match is a repeat from last year as Ger Finn takes on Paul Allen. These matches could go either way and i wouldn’t like to pick a winner. The deadline to play the semi final is the end of September.
Ger Finn (18) vs Paul Allen (15)
Kieran Donegan (16) vs John O Keeffe (13)
The semi final draw in both the Shield and Cup have also been made with some interesting ties being thrown up in both competitions. Again the deadline has been set as the end of September for these matches to be played. Best of luck to all. Continue reading
